Mindful Sewa is built on sewa, the spirit of selfless service.
Mindful Sewa was created to give people kind, easy to reach and personal mental health care in a safe, respectful setting. You may want help with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, ADHD or medication. Whatever brings you here, we meet you with patience and understanding.
We believe mental health care should be free of judgment. It should fit each person, be easy to reach and look at long-term wellness. Above all, it should rest on respect, trust and understanding.
Care is by secure video anywhere in California. That means no commute and no waiting room. You simply need to be in California during your visit.
Meet Our Founder, Harpal Singh, PMHNP-BC
Harpal Singh is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He gives caring, evidence-based mental health care to people of all ages. He evaluates, diagnoses and treats many conditions, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, insomnia and behavior changes linked to dementia.
Harpal starts by listening to your whole story, not just a list of symptoms. He asks about sleep, stress, family, culture, health and what you hope will change. Then he explains what he sees in plain words and builds the plan with you, not for you.
When medicine is part of the plan, he talks through why a type of medicine may help. He covers side effects to watch for and how progress will be checked. You see him at every visit, so you never repeat your story to someone new.
Education and Certification
Harpal earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University. He then finished a Post-Master's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate at Herzing University.
He holds national board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). That is what the letters BC in PMHNP-BC stand for. He also holds a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license, which lets him prescribe controlled medicines when clinically appropriate and allowed under current telehealth rules.
Clinical Background
His work spans outpatient psychiatry, assisted living, memory care and long-term care. That background makes geriatric psychiatry and care for dementia-related behavior changes real strengths of this practice. He is used to working with older adults and the families who support them.
He also works with children, teens and adults. He helps patients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma and other mental health concerns. When a patient wants family involved, he is glad to include them.
- PMHNP-BC, board certified by the ANCC
- DEA-licensed prescriber
- Trauma-informed care
- Care in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Spanish
- Telehealth across all of California

Culturally Responsive, Multilingual Care
Harpal gives care directly in English, Punjabi, Hindi and Spanish. There is no interpreter in the room, so you can speak in the language you think and feel in. Many families find that makes it easier to talk openly.
His care is built on teamwork, education and proven treatment. It honors each person's life, beliefs and goals. The aim is lasting mental wellness, stronger resilience and a better quality of life.
What a PMHNP Does
PMHNP stands for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. A PMHNP is an advanced practice nurse with graduate training in mental health. PMHNPs evaluate, diagnose and treat mental health conditions. They prescribe medicine and provide therapy.
Harpal is a nurse practitioner, not a physician. So his correct title is Harpal Singh, PMHNP-BC. The letters BC mean he is board certified by the ANCC, a national group that certifies nurse practitioners.
Why the Name Sewa
Sewa is a Punjabi and Hindi word for selfless service. It sits at the center of this practice and shapes how every patient is treated.
In daily care, sewa means patience, respect and honest answers. You are never rushed and never judged. Care here is professional, personal and focused on helping you feel better, with a plan built around your needs, goals and comfort.
