Mental health care is not one appointment. It is a partnership over time. Follow-up visits are where progress is measured, medicines are fine-tuned and your plan keeps pace with your life.
Follow-up visits at Mindful Sewa Psychiatry are a flat $199 each. They are held by telehealth from anywhere in California, at times that fit your week.
A treatment plan is a starting point, not a finish line. Psychiatric follow-up visits by telehealth are where the plan meets your real week, with its work shifts, family needs and bad nights. Each visit asks a simple question. Is this helping, and what should change?
Because you see the same clinician each time, you do not have to retell your story. Harpal Singh, PMHNP-BC, already knows your history, so each visit builds on the last one instead of starting over. Visits happen by secure video, and hours run Monday to Sunday by appointment.
How Follow-Up Care Works
- Schedule Your Next Visit. Most follow-ups are booked at the end of each visit or online through IntakeQ. Hours run Monday to Sunday by appointment.
- Track How You Feel. Between visits, jot down changes in mood, sleep, focus or side effects. Short notes make the visit more useful.
- Review and Adjust. At the visit, progress is reviewed and small changes are made if needed. You leave knowing what to watch before the next check-in.
- Space Visits as You Improve. As things settle, visits can move further apart. If symptoms return, you can book sooner.
What Happens at a Follow-Up
We review your symptoms since the last visit, often with the same rating scales used at your evaluation so change is easy to see. We look at how well your medicine works and any side effects, make changes and update your plan. Refills are sent by e-prescribing when they are due.
Scheduling That Fits Real Life
Visits are available at times that work around jobs, school and caregiving. Because visits are by video, a follow-up can fit in a lunch break. There is no half-day of driving and no waiting room.
Steady Visits Help Care Work
Treatment tends to work best when visits happen on a steady schedule. Regular check-ins catch problems early, before they grow. We try to make follow-ups easy to keep, so your care does not slip.
Signs You Should Book a Follow-Up Sooner
Do not wait for your scheduled date if something changes. Book an earlier visit if you notice new or worse side effects, sleep that falls apart or a mood that drops for more than a few days. Big life events like a loss, a new job or a move are also good reasons to check in.
You can send a message through the portal, and messages are returned within one business day. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988, or call 911. Mindful Sewa is not a crisis service. Our crisis resources page lists more help.
How Follow-Up Care Differs From Your First Visit
The first evaluation gathers your whole history. Follow-up visits are shorter and more focused. They look at what changed since last time and what to do next. Think of the evaluation as the map and follow-ups as checking your route.
Follow-ups are also where trust grows. Over time you learn what to report, and your clinician learns your patterns. This steady relationship is often what turns a good plan into lasting progress. You can learn how the first visit works on our psychiatric evaluation page.
Making Follow-Ups Easy to Keep
The best plan only works if visits happen. Pick a regular time slot that fits your week, such as the same weekday lunch break. Put it in your phone calendar with a reminder the day before. Join from a place with steady internet and a door that closes.
If you need to change a visit, give at least 48 hours notice. Later changes may be charged 50% of the fee, and same-day cancellations or no-shows are charged the full fee. We do consider unexpected situations. Knowing this ahead of time helps you plan around work, school and family so your care stays on track.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How long are follow-up appointments?
Follow-ups are shorter than the first evaluation, but they are not rushed refill checks. There is time to talk about how you are doing, not just your prescription. Ask when you book if you want to know how long your visit will be.
What if I need to be seen sooner than planned?
Send a message or call, and we will look at moving your visit up when symptoms change or side effects appear. Messages are returned within one business day. In an emergency, call 911 or 988 first.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 48 hours notice to cancel or change a visit. Changes inside 48 hours may be charged 50% of the fee. Same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged the full fee. If something unexpected happens, tell us and we will consider it.
Can a family member join my follow-up?
Yes, with your consent. Family input is often helpful, especially for children, teens and older adults. You decide who joins and for how long.
Do I need a follow-up if my medication is working well?
Yes. Regular check-ins keep refills safe and catch small problems early. Once you are stable, visits can usually be spaced further apart.
Can I switch my follow-up to a different language?
Yes. You can hold any visit in English, Punjabi, Hindi or Spanish. Just let us know when you book.
What if I am traveling outside California on my visit day?
You must be physically in California at the time of each telehealth visit. If you will be out of state, please reschedule with at least 48 hours notice to avoid a fee.
Can I get a superbill for my follow-up visits?
Yes. Superbills are available on request, and you may be able to send them to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards are also accepted.
