Online Psychiatric Care Anywhere in California
Mindful Sewa is an online psychiatric practice for all of California. Patients join by secure telehealth video from Los Angeles, from Orange County cities like Irvine, Fullerton and Tustin, and from the Bay Area, Sacramento, Fresno, Stockton and Yuba City. Every visit happens by telehealth from anywhere in California, so where you live does not limit your care.
Your care is led by Harpal Singh, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. He treats children, teens, adults and seniors. Most people start with a psychiatric evaluation, then move into medication, therapy or both. You can talk with Harpal in English, Punjabi, Hindi or Spanish, with no interpreter in the room.
What Makes Private Pay Different
We do not bill insurance, so you and your provider set the plan. No insurance company decides it. You do not wait for approval before a visit, and no plan limits how many visits you get. You know the price before you book, and every fee is on the Fees page.
Private pay also means fewer people see your mental health records. We do not send claims to your insurer. If you want money back from your plan, you can ask us for a superbill and decide for yourself whether to send it in.

FAQ
Online Psychiatry Questions
Getting Started
Do you see patients anywhere in California?
Yes. All care happens by secure telehealth video, so there is no office to travel to. Patients from San Diego to Redding get the same access to visits. You just need to be in California at the time of each visit.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No. You can book on your own, with no referral needed. If a doctor or therapist suggested psychiatric care, you are welcome to share their notes. They are helpful but never required.
How soon can I be seen?
New patients are usually seen within days, not months. Visits run Monday to Sunday, by appointment only. You can book online any time through our secure scheduling portal.
What ages do you treat?
We treat children, teens, adults and seniors. That includes care for older adults and memory care psychiatry. Families are welcome to take part when the patient agrees.
I already see a psychiatric provider. Can I switch to you?
Yes. Start with an initial evaluation and bring a list of your current medicines. Past records are helpful too. Your new prescriber will review your history and decide on the plan with you.
Cost and Payment
Do you take insurance?
We are a private pay practice with flat, published fees. We do not bill insurance. Many patients use HSA or FSA funds, and superbills are available for possible out-of-network payback.
What does a first appointment cost?
The initial psychiatric evaluation is $250. It lasts about 60 minutes and includes a written plan. Follow-up visits are $199, and every fee is listed on our Fees page.
Can I pay with my HSA or FSA card?
Yes. Mental health care is a qualified medical expense. You can use your HSA or FSA card like any other card. Keep your receipts in case your plan asks for proof.
Will my insurance pay me back?
It might, if you have out-of-network benefits. Ask us for a superbill after your visit and send it to your insurer yourself. Any payback depends on your plan and is not guaranteed.
Is e-prescribing part of the visit fee?
Yes. Sending prescriptions to your pharmacy is part of your visit. Your written plan is included too. There is no extra charge for either one.
Your Care
Can I keep seeing my therapist while I get medication from you?
Yes. Many patients keep their current therapist and see us for medication management. With your written permission, we can share information. That way everyone on your care team stays on the same page.
Is online psychiatry right for serious symptoms?
Telehealth works well for many conditions, from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder. If your needs call for a higher level of care, we will tell you honestly and help you think about next steps. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911 right away.
What happens at my first visit?
Harpal asks about your symptoms, health, sleep, stress, family and goals. He explains what he sees in plain words. You leave with a working diagnosis and a written plan. When medicine is part of the plan, prescriptions go to your pharmacy.
Can I speak with Harpal in Punjabi, Hindi or Spanish?
Yes. Harpal speaks with patients directly in Punjabi, Hindi, Spanish and English. You never need an interpreter. Many families find it easier to talk openly in their own language.
Can a family member join my visit?
Yes, if you agree. They can sit with you or join from a separate link. This is common for child, teen and senior visits.
Privacy and Video Visits
Is the video visit private and secure?
Yes. Visits use encrypted video built for health care. No part of your session is recorded. Choosing a private room helps you speak freely.
Will my insurance company know about my visits?
Not from us. We do not send claims to insurers. A superbill only goes to your plan if you choose to send it.
What device do I need?
A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone works well. You also need an internet or cellular data connection. Your visit link comes by email, so you just click it at your visit time.
Do I have to be in California for my visit?
Yes. You must be physically in California during every visit, even if you live here. If you will be away, please reschedule at least 48 hours ahead. That way you avoid a late change fee.
What if my video connection drops?
We reconnect or switch to a phone call to finish the visit. A tech problem never costs you your appointment. Joining a few minutes early gives you time to fix any setup issues.
