Stress & Burnout Treatment in California

Board-certified telepsychiatry available anywhere in California — in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Spanish.

Burnout is what happens when chronic stress outruns recovery: exhaustion that sleep does not fix, cynicism about work you used to care about, and a creeping sense that you are running on empty. It is common among caregivers, healthcare workers, teachers, and high-pressure professionals — and it is not solved by a weekend off.

Mindful Sewa Psychiatry helps Californians recover from chronic stress and burnout through telehealth evaluation, treatment, and practical recovery planning.

Signs & Symptoms of Stress & Burnout

  • Exhaustion that rest does not relieve
  • Cynicism or detachment from work
  • Reduced performance and concentration
  • Irritability with coworkers or family
  • Headaches, muscle tension, or stomach issues
  • Sleep problems
  • Using alcohol, food, or screens to cope
  • Dreading each workday

How We Treat Stress & Burnout

First we determine whether burnout has tipped into clinical depression or anxiety, which need direct treatment. Then we build recovery: sleep restoration, boundary and workload strategies, stress-response skills, and medication support when symptoms warrant it.

When time away from work is medically necessary, we can provide clinical documentation supporting leave or accommodations.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Your first appointment is a candid video conversation about your work, your life, and your symptoms. We separate what needs medical treatment from what needs structural change, and we make a plan for both.

Ready to start? Book a comprehensive evaluation, review our transparent fees, or take the symptoms quiz first.

Stress & Burnout — Frequently Asked Questions

Is burnout a medical diagnosis?

Burnout is recognized as an occupational syndrome, and it frequently coexists with or develops into diagnosable depression or anxiety. Evaluation tells us which you are dealing with — the treatments differ.

Do I need medication for burnout?

Not always. If burnout has triggered depression, anxiety, or severe insomnia, medication can speed recovery. Otherwise, structured behavioral recovery is the focus.

Can you write a letter for medical leave?

When clinically appropriate, yes. We provide documentation supporting FMLA leave, reduced schedules, or workplace accommodations.

How long does burnout recovery take?

With real changes and support, most people feel substantially better within two to three months. Without changes, burnout tends to deepen — which is why acting now matters.
