What Is Amphetamine Salt Combo?

Amphetamine salt combo and mixed amphetamine salts are pharmacy names for the generic version of Adderall. The medicine blends four amphetamine salts. Together they give about three parts dextroamphetamine to one part levoamphetamine.

How Adderall XR Works Through the Day

Amphetamines must never be taken with an MAOI antidepressant or within 14 days of stopping one. Some antidepressants and other serotonin drugs add a small risk of serotonin syndrome. Antacids can increase how much you absorb, while acidic foods and drinks, like citrus juice, can lower it.

Cold medicines with decongestants, such as pseudoephedrine, can add to a faster heart rate and higher blood pressure. Large amounts of caffeine can add jitters. Alcohol and other drugs do not mix safely with stimulants. Talk with your prescriber about pregnancy plans.
