Conditions We Treat

Child & Teen ADHD Treatment in California

Board-certified telepsychiatry available anywhere in California — in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Spanish.

When a child struggles to sit still, follow directions, or keep up in school, parents hear everything from "kids will be kids" to "bad parenting." The truth is often simpler: childhood ADHD is a common, well-understood medical condition — and the right care changes a child's entire trajectory.

Mindful Sewa Psychiatry provides ADHD evaluation and treatment for children and teens across California by telehealth, with parents involved at every step.

How We Treat Child & Teen ADHD

Evaluation combines parent and teacher rating scales, a developmental history, and a clinical interview with your child. When ADHD is confirmed, we discuss the full range of options — behavioral strategies, school supports, and medication management when appropriate — and you decide together as a family.

We monitor growth, sleep, appetite, and mood at every follow-up, and we provide documentation for IEP and 504 plans so school supports match the diagnosis.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

The first appointment includes both parent and child by video. Younger children often do better in their own environment, which is one reason families prefer telehealth. You leave with a clear picture of what is going on and a plan you helped build.

Child & Teen ADHD — Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can ADHD be diagnosed?

ADHD can be reliably diagnosed from about age four onward, though most evaluations happen during elementary school years when academic demands rise.

Will medication change my child's personality?

No — the goal is the opposite. Properly dosed medication helps your child's real personality come through without the constant friction. If a medication makes your child flat or tearful, we change it.

Do you help with school accommodations?

Yes. We provide clinical documentation to support 504 plans and IEPs, and we are happy to coordinate with school staff when parents request it.

Can teens outgrow ADHD?

Symptoms change with age — hyperactivity often fades — but most children with ADHD carry some symptoms into adulthood. Early treatment builds skills that last a lifetime.
